Evaluation of lightweight Concrete Core Test Including Steel Bars

چکیده
In many steel reinforced concrete members, bars are not avoidable during core drilling and the presence of these have a direct impact on results this test. This study aims to examine effect test recycled aggregate lightweight (LWC) cores. For purpose, one mix was made with total number 48 cores were taken from slab having dimensions 1 m width, 1.5 length 0.15m thickness. Each has 90 mm in diameter 150 height. Three different sizes (12, 16 20 mm) used six locations (25, 45 65 base (15 30 center line core. A crashed clay brick (CCB) as an alternative coarse aggregate. Compare density normal (2400 kg/m3), LWC able achieve nearly 20% reduction weight by fully replacing CCB. It been found that increases compressive strength is more noticeable when location bar near mid-height or centerline Also, influence increased increasing size bar.

Monitoring Corrosion of Steel Bars in Reinforced Concrete Structures
Corrosion of steel bars embedded in reinforced concrete (RC) structures reduces the service life and durability of structures causing early failure of structure, which costs significantly for inspection and maintenance of deteriorating structures. Hence, monitoring of reinforcement corrosion is of significant importance for preventing premature failure of structures. This paper attempts to pres...

This study evaluated the effect of macro steel fiber (SF), micro glass fiber (GF) and micro polypropylene fiber (PF) in lightweight aggregate concrete, (LWAC) beams reinforced with glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) bars. Firstly, concrete mixtures with different volume fractions of GF, PF and SF were tested up to compressive strength, then determine the optimum fiber content GF, PF and SF a...
متن کاملEvaluation of Properties of Steel Reinforcing Bars for Seismic Design
Capacity design procedure for the earthquake-resistant reinforced concrete (RC) structures is effective when actual member capacities do not greatly exceed the assumed design capacities. Moreover, RC members are expected to undergo large inelastic deformations for adequate seismic energy dissipation. Since flexural capacity and post-yield behavior of an RC member is largely controlled by steel ...
متن کاملNondestructive Evaluation of an Existing Concrete Structure using Load Test and Core Test
This research work is focused on nondestructive evaluation of a five storied concrete frame structure of which construction was halted seven years ago. Before further construction could be started again it was imperative to assess the existing condition. For this purpose, load tests and core tests were performed on four floors from basement to first floor. It took more than one year to finish t...
متن کاملPrediction of Lightweight Aggregate Concrete Compressive Strength
Nowadays, the better performance of lightweight structures during earthquake has resulted in using lightweight concrete more than ever. However, determining the compressive strength of concrete used in these structures during their service through a none-destructive test is a popular and useful method. One of the main methods of non-destructive testing in the assessment of compressive strength...
